Pupil Voice at Epworth Primary Academy

The children are involved in the life of the school and are encouraged to take responsibility through the School Council. Two children are elected from each class from Year 2 upwards to be class representatives on the School Council for a year.

The School Council regularly meets with the Principal, to discuss aspects of school life. The Council have areas of school life they are responsible for including; teaching, learning, enterprise, behaviour, safety, environment, sport and leisure.

We also have a Head boy, Head Girl, Deputy Head Boy, Deputy Head Girl and Prefects which are elected by all staff associated with the Academy.

A group of children have acted as Playground Buddies, keeping an eye out for children in need of a friend to play games with and resolving minor squabbles between children. The children are trained in this role and work with a member of support staff. The good work of this group has been recognised by the Local Authority and have presented their good work to a range of audiences including an NSPCC.
