A message from the CEO, Sarah Sprack
|
|
As we bid farewell to another term at our Isle Education Trust, I want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible journey we have shared this term. Our academies have been buzzing with energy, enthusiasm, and an unwavering commitment to learning. Students have excelled in their studies, participated in engaging projects, and showcased their talents in various performances. It has been heartwarming to see our community come together to support one another, creating an environment where every child can thrive.
As we embrace the festive season, let’s take a moment to reflect on the joys of Christmas. Did you know that the tradition of hanging stockings comes from a story about a kind man named St. Nicholas? Legend has it that he secretly dropped gold coins down the chimney of a poor family's home, which landed in their stockings that were hung by the fire to dry. This delightful story reminds us of the spirit of giving and kindness that embodies this season.
|
As we prepare for the Christmas break, I encourage everyone to take this time to relax, recharge, and enjoy time with family and friends.
Wishing you all a joyful Christmas filled with love and laughter, and a New Year that brings new opportunities and adventures.

Principal's Update, Sean Woolley.
|
|
As we reach the end of another busy term, I am filled with pride, reflecting on everything your children have achieved. This term has been a time of hard work and exciting experiences that have again allowed our children to experience a wide range of exciting opportunities, which finished with the Christmas performances and carol concert.
We have had a range of memorable trips that have enriched our education offer and broadened the horizons of those involved. In the classroom, I have been so impressed by the continued hard work and perseverance displayed by all our pupils. Every visitor that we have had at the academy has commented on the manners, politeness and work ethic of the children.
I would like to thank our teachers and staff who continue to work so hard to ensure that the children experience engaging lessons that challenge and inspire.
|
Also a thank you to you, our parents for your continued support.
Have a well deserved rest, and we will see you in the new year.
Wishing everyone a restful and joyful holiday!

Sean Woolley

During the summer holiday, Robin in Year 4 wanted to raise money for Cancer Research by completing an activity with his big sister. They both took on the tough challenge of crossing Dartmoor. Robin, with his sister Amber, raised £200 for Cancer Research by bog hopping through awful marshes and pure bog from Ivybridge to Belstone (south to north), a total of 50km and 1200m of height climbed.
There are very few footpaths across Dartmoor with no specific route to follow. To undertake this journey you need to go cross country across the marshes and navigate with skill. This therefore took two days of skill, humour and grit. There were lots of adventures along the way with cows running towards them after their food and map, the bog of doom, some navigation challenges and a cosy night in a local historic bunk house. This was no walk in the park. It was a gruelling effort but with lots of adventure - well done Robin and Amber.

Nut Allergy (Please read this very important information)
We have a number of children in school who have very severe nut allergys (peanuts/hazelnuts/almond). As their allergies are triggered from ingestion and touch we have enforced a total ban of all nuts in school.
Your child is not at any risk whatsoever from this situation. However, the health and wellbeing of our pupils who are at risk, does depend on your co-operation. Please do not bring any items in to school that contain nuts eg. chocolate spread, cakes, biscuits etc.
Thank you for your co-operation in this very serious matter.
